Where to find events in Vilnius

Bonder · Published

The easiest places to find events in Vilnius are the official city calendar Vilnius Events, the kaveikti.lt listings site and Bonder, which shows what is coming up on a map and in a list. The Vilnius Night Office calendar covers nightlife and concerts in small venues, and tickets for big concerts and shows are sold on Bilietai.lt, Tiketa, Kakava and Paysera Tickets. No single source has everything, so it helps to know which to open when.

The short answer: where to look for what you need

  • Something to do today or tomorrow: the Vilnius Events "Today" and "Tomorrow" filters, or Bonder's "Events in Vilnius today" and "tomorrow" pages, sorted by start time.
  • Planning the weekend: Bonder's weekend page and the Vilnius Events "This weekend" filter.
  • Free events: Vilnius Events has a "show only free events" switch, kaveikti.lt a "Free" filter, and Bonder a page of free events.
  • Parties, live music and nightlife: the Vilnius Night Office calendar (vnb.lt), and Resident Advisor for club nights.
  • Big concerts, theatre and sport: the ticket sites Bilietai.lt, Tiketa and Kakava, and venue sites such as Arena Vilnius and Compensa concert hall.
  • Quiz nights, workshops and small tours: Paysera Tickets, where anyone can set up an event, and Bonder's quiz night page.
  • Where your friends are going: Bonder, where you see who is going to a public event when your friends share their plans.
  • Events in English: Bonder's English-language events page and Vilnius Events, which has an English version.

How many events each source shows

On 29 October, the Vilnius Events home page showed 52 events across three days (29 to 31 October). The kaveikti.lt counter showed 350 events in Vilnius and 2,200 across Lithuania. Bonder listed 75 public events in Vilnius for the next 7 days and 184 for the next 30, at 78 different venues. The first page of the Vilnius Night Office calendar had 12 evening events over two days, and the Miesto Žirafos Vilnius page had 11 events on 29 October.

These numbers do not compare directly: some sources count a whole season, others only the next few days, and one event with several sessions can appear more than once. What they do show is that the big listings and the city calendar cover a lot together, while many small events, such as quiz nights, workshops and community meetups, often appear in only one place.

Which source to open

The official city calendar: Vilnius Events

Vilnius Events is the city's events calendar, run by the tourism and business agency Go Vilnius. It lists festivals, concerts, theatre, exhibitions, outdoor and family events, and the big city celebrations such as "Christmas in the Capital" have their own sections. It is the best place to check the dates of events the city itself organises.

The big listings: kaveikti.lt and Miesto Žirafos

kaveikti.lt has run since 2007 and covers all of Lithuania, which helps when you are looking beyond Vilnius. Alongside events it has a directory of bars, cafes and leisure venues. Both it and Miesto Žirafos are in Lithuanian only. Miesto Žirafos still lists the day's events in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda, though its footer reads 2016-2020 and we could not find its app in the Lithuanian App Store.

Nightlife: the Vilnius Night Office and Resident Advisor

The Vilnius Night Office calendar gathers concerts and parties from about two dozen clubs, bars and halls in the city, from Loftas and Kostmosas to jazz clubs, and you can filter it by venue and by whether entry is paid. Electronic music and club nights are often listed on Resident Advisor. Bonder has separate pages for parties and techno nights.

Big concerts and shows: the ticket sites

If you already know what you want to see, the quickest route is the ticket site. Bilietai.lt, Tiketa and Kakava sell tickets for most concerts, plays and sports events, and Bilietai.lt and Tiketa have phone apps. Paysera Tickets is different in that anyone can set up an event there, so it has many small events: tours, workshops and quiz nights. The largest venues, such as Arena Vilnius and Compensa concert hall, also list their upcoming events on their own sites.

Facebook and Instagram

Many bars, galleries and communities post their events only on Facebook or Instagram. That reaches people who already follow the place but is hard to find for anyone else, and Facebook shows no events list without an account. Follow the places you like, and use the listings to find new ones.

Bonder: a map, dates and who is going

Bonder gathers public events in Vilnius into one list and map that you can browse by day, category, venue and performer. Every day has its own page, so a search for "events in Vilnius on 7 November" leads straight to that day's list. Each event shows the organiser's own description, and you buy tickets where the organiser sells them. Bonder also lets you create your own event or invitation and see who is coming.

Ways to search on Bonder

How not to miss a good event

  • Plan the weekend by Wednesday: popular parties and small-venue concerts sell out within days.
  • Check an event in two sources: times or venues sometimes change, and not every site updates at once.
  • Check the price and sign-up on the organiser's page: listings show what was published, the organiser sets the terms.
  • Use city sources for city celebrations: the dates for Christmas, New Year and the Kaziukas fair come first from the municipality and Go Vilnius.
